Ray Driscoll mistreats an old monk and steals a sacred relic. Tex catches him, recovers the ill-gotten property and lets him go, to reward him for surrendering without coming to blows. Tex thereby teaches his son Kit that one can also be magnanimous. It is worse for Yaqui, a mad priest of the Children of the Sun, the last descendents of an ancient warrior race devoted to human sacrifices, who hold the Pima tribe in slavery: Willer intervenes and leads the slaves in revolt. Months later, while Freccia Rossa is about to die, Tex must leave for Utah to help Nellie Delaney, the widow of a friend of Kit Carson’s.
