Maison Amable, a clinic that specializes in the treatment of psychopathologies, is a place replete with every possible comfort: a serene port of call where wealthy patients stop off and are provided with suitable support by the wise medical care of Dr Auguste Lamballe, the Consultant who is the Head of the clinic. But then an unexpected event occurs: one of the in-patients, the brother of the renowned pianist Constance Rhainz, suddenly loses control and goes on crazy killing sprees, only to kill himself as well not long after. This disturbing development is accompanied by another strange event: his personal carer, who had been abruptly dismissed from service, is found dead by enterprising Constance.
